The Four Steps

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how David H. Rosmarin, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use The Four Steps (the "App"). We know the information you share with a tool about anxiety is personal, and we treat it with care. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

You can contact us about privacy at info@dhrosmarin.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account details such as your name and email address so we can create and secure your account.

Assessment responses. If you complete a self-assessment (such as a brief anxiety questionnaire and questions about how anxiety affects areas of your life), we store your responses and the resulting scores so you can track them over time.

Conversations. The messages you write in the App, and the responses generated for you, are stored so the App can function, maintain continuity across sessions, and show your progress.

Usage information. We collect information about how you use the App, such as when and how often you use it, how long your sessions last, and which parts of the method you have engaged with.

Communications preferences. If you choose to receive reminders or summaries, we store your contact preferences and, if you opt in to text messages, the phone number you provide. If you separately opt in to periodic tools and updates from Dr. Rosmarin (a distinct, unchecked-by-default choice at sign-in from the reminders/summaries above), we share your email address for that specific purpose as described in Section 4.

We do not ask for and do not want you to submit more sensitive information than the App needs.

2. Sensitive information

Some of the information you provide — such as anxiety self-assessment responses and the content of your conversations — may reveal information about your mental or emotional state. We treat this as sensitive information. Where required by applicable law, we rely on your consent to collect and process this information, and you may withdraw that consent by discontinuing use of the App and requesting deletion of your data as described below.

The App is a self-help tool and is not a HIPAA-covered health-care provider; the information you share in the App is generally not "protected health information" under HIPAA. That does not lessen our commitment to handling your information responsibly.

Some of this information may qualify as "consumer health data" under laws such as the Washington My Health My Data Act and similar laws in other jurisdictions. We describe how we handle consumer health data — including your rights to access, withdraw consent, and delete it — in our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice, which supplements this Policy. Where those laws require your affirmative opt-in consent before we collect or share consumer health data, we obtain it.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your conversations or assessments to serve you advertising.

4. How your information is processed and shared

We use trusted third-party service providers to run the App. These providers process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide services to us. They currently include:

We may add, replace, or use additional service providers as needed to operate and improve the App. When we do, we require them to protect your information consistent with this Policy.

Please note that the messages you write are sent to our artificial-intelligence provider to generate responses. Do not include information in your messages that you would not want processed for that purpose.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or others, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to appropriate protections.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your data as described below.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dhrosmarin.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

You can also stop using the App at any time and can sign out on any device you use.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International users

We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protections for international transfers of personal information. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

9. Children

The App is intended only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at info@dhrosmarin.com.

10. SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages, you may receive check-in reminders and safety/referral-related messages at the frequency you select (up to several per week). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. We do not share mobile opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.

12. Contact

If you have questions or requests regarding this Policy or your information, contact us at info@dhrosmarin.com.
