1. Acceptance

By using The Four Steps ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

2. You must be 18+

The App is only for adults 18 and older. By using it, you confirm you are at least 18.

3. What the App is — and isn't

The App is a self-help and educational tool for everyday, non-clinical anxiety. It is built on a method developed by Dr. Rosmarin.

The App is NOT:

therapy, counseling, or any form of clinical treatment;
a substitute for professional medical or mental health care;
a diagnostic tool (including any self-assessment or score it shows you);
an emergency or crisis service.

The self-assessment scores the App shows you (including GAD-7 scores and percentiles) are for self-understanding and educational purposes only. They are not a diagnosis and should not be treated as one.

4. If you are in crisis

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, or are in a mental health emergency, stop using the App and get help immediately — in the U.S., call or text 988, or call 911. The App cannot help in an emergency.

5. When you may need more than the App

The App is designed for non-clinical anxiety. If your anxiety is interfering with your sleep, work, relationships, or daily functioning, you should seek care from a licensed professional. The App may suggest this and may offer to help you connect with the Center for Anxiety, but the decision and responsibility to seek care are yours.

6. No provider relationship

Using the App does not create a therapist–patient, doctor–patient, or any professional treatment relationship between you and Dr. Rosmarin, the Center for Anxiety, or anyone else — even where the App helps you begin an intake. A treatment relationship begins only through the clinic's own separate intake and agreement process.

For your attorney:Section 6 is important given your dual role. Review that the App's language, and the referral/intake hand-off, don't inadvertently create or imply a clinical relationship or professional duty before your clinic's formal intake.

7. Your responsibilities

Provide accurate information.
Use the App for yourself, for its intended self-help purpose.
Don't misuse, disrupt, or attempt to breach the App.

8. AI-generated content

The App uses AI to generate responses. AI can be wrong or produce content that doesn't fit your situation. Use judgment; don't rely on it as professional advice.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, [LEGAL ENTITY] is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App. [Your attorney will want to tailor this section — including the limitation-of-liability cap and any carve-outs — to your jurisdiction.]

10. Changes and termination

We may modify or discontinue the App, or update these Terms, at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
